Karen Peck & New River Celebrate Dove Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (OCTOBER 22, 2019) — Daywind recording artist Karen Peck & New River celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards on with a big win in Southern Gospel Song of the Year category. “I Know I’ll Be There,” written by Dave Clark, Karen Peck Gooch, and Wayne Haun also reached the #1 position on the Singing News National Airplay chart in April 2019.

The Gospel Music Association celebrated the 50th Annual Dove Awards with a sold out crowd on Tuesday, October 15th, at the Allen Arena at Lipscomb University. The evening honored Christian and Gospel music’s rich history.

KAREN PECK & NEW RIVER, JOSEPH HABEDANK & TRIUMPHANT QUARTET

Karen Peck & New River joined Joseph Habedank and Triumphant Quartet on the show for a special Southern Gospel tribute. Habedank opened the performance with his #1 song “Shame On Me” followed by Karen Peck & New River’s moving performance of their #1 song “Gotta Be Saved.” Closing out the special segment, Triumphant Quartet performed the Oak Ridge Boys classic, “Jesus Is Coming Soon,” the first song ever to receive a Dove Award for Song of the Year.

The 50th Annual award show was televised on TBN on Sunday, October 20 at 8 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. PST.
